INVITATION FOR BIDS

Supply, Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of Computers and
Accessories for Selected Schools in all Provinces

  1. The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the investment of Secondary Education Modernization Project II (SEMPII).  This invitation for Bids follows the specific notice that appeared in the ADBBO website and Ministry of Education Website.  www. moe.gov.lk
  2. The Secretary, Ministry of Education (MoE) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders from member countries of ADB for the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of Computers and Accessories for Selected Schools in all provinces.
  3. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single Stage: One –Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries.
  4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information form the Project Director/SEMP II Ministry of Education and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below.

  5. The Bidding Documents, in the English Language, may be purchased by interested Bidders on submission of a written application to the address given below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of SLRs. 2500/- in cash.   
  6. Bids must be delivered to the address given in para 4, not later than 1400 hours on     7th October 2008.  Bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the Bidder’s representatives who choose to attend address given in para 4.  Late Bids shall be rejected.  All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Sri Lanka Rupees 2,500,000/-.  Electronic bidding is not allowed.
  7. Ministry of Education will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Bidders in connection with the preparation or delivery of Bids.
